This was a competition project done for the MMRDA at Worli, Mumbai. The fi shermen’s village was the subject site, wherein we had to relocate all the fi shermen in one portion of the site. The balance land was to be used to develop a water-front residential community. However the challenge was to make it an affordable project that could house the middle-class working professional population of the city. MMRDA did not want to develop it as an upscale project for only the elite and ultra-rich. It had to be a home for the common man!.
