We as earth – integrated designers took up the mammoth responsibility to put forward a proposal addressing the environmental problems that the lakes are facing due to irresponsible dumping of useless sewage, discharge causing severe water pollution and to devise a methodology, to connect the lake and its surroundings with the people so as to maintain the sanctity of the lake, through green development. The belt of mangraves around the lake needs to be restored after implementing careful desiltation on the embankments. The lake is fi lled with acquatic plants like water hyacinth that acts as natural water fi lters and are used to introduce the reed bed system near the lake to naturally fi lter the waste water from the neighbourhood, that could be later used to water the landscaping around the lake.
